# Five things to agree before a factory visit

An entrance photo is only a start. Agree the place, access, records, samples and how gaps will be reported.

## Address and access

Confirm the company name, exact address, contact and available time. Explain the visit and agree where photography and conversations are permitted. An address on a document may not be the production location you want to see; clarify it before arranging travel.

## Records and samples

List the entrance, product or equipment views needed and the question each should answer. For samples, agree model, quantity, labels, packaging and forwarding details. Record identifiers you can check and anything unavailable. One sample is not proof of the quality of an entire shipment.

## Report the gaps, too

The fifth agreement is how to report unfinished items. Denied access, an absent contact or missing records should be explicit. Separate site documentation, professional review, travel and shipping costs. You can then review a bounded result instead of an unexplained claim that a factory is verified.
